Cuts well with very little arbor/blade wobble, easily operable fence that stays parallel to the blade. The Bosch 4000-N-RT is a nice worksite tablesaw. It is lightweight and easy to haul around and set up on site. However, the motor is suseptiple to getting dust in the brushes so it needs to be kept clean by blowing the dust out of the motor on a regular basis when doing a lot of ripping. In summary great worksite table saw but not what a serious carpenter would buy for the home shop.
I am very happy with this saw especially for the price. It runs great and has plenty of power. I've been using it regularly for about 6 months now. Although the saw has been reconditioned, it appeared to be like new. Combined with the Bosch stand, it is a really nice unit. The saw arrived with a good plywood blade (with lots of teeth).
Deep scratches in the table and some sawdust. Reconditioned is supposed to be "returned to like-new condition". The saw I received does not look new to me, it looks like a used saw. For a bit more more, you can get the new version with extensions and stand. The money saved buying a slightly beat-up looking used saw isn't worth it.
It assembled easily and runs perfectly. I was very surprised and very happy to recieve my saw in new packaging and to see that it had been totally reconditioned. I couldn't find a mark on it. The motor has plenty of power which makes for very smooth, easy cuts. It is everything they said it would be.
Unfortunately, my fence was damaged during shipment. Without the fence damage this saw is worth five stars. The miter guage, blade guard and fence however, were tucked under the saw and were loose. The saw itself was wedged into the standard styrofoam form fitting pieces that contained the saw in the box without shifting. I just received my recon saw yesterday. It locks down tight and is very accurate once adjusted. It took a long time for me to finally decide to buy this saw and don't want to ship the whole thing back, so I'll wait for good news from Amazon CS. The perfect compromise for someone like me who doesn't have the room for a full size one.
I received my fence this week. I contacted customer service and they're working on sending a replacement. As mentioned in other reviews, the packaging left a lot to be desired. I'll update my review when my fence gets replaced---stay tuned. The lockdown mechanism was bent and no longer worked. The saw itself is wonderful. Bosch sent a brand new one. Thanks for a great saw at a bargain price.
